ROBERT KUESTER

ROBERT KUESTER

Until his untimely death in 2019, Robert lived and painted in New Mexico.  He found subject matter all the way from Taos, NM to Sedona, AZ to the beaches  of CA, to Venice  Italy. Both a studio and plein air artist, he painted landscapes, portraits, still life, and the figure.

His education began at Drake University, then he received a degree from Art center College of Design. Subsequent studies were with with O. Berberian, M Lynch, Irby Brown & others. As an Alla Prima painter, Robert loved the beauty to be found in brushwork for its own sake while always arriving at a convincing final image.  Rich but naturalistic color were always a major motivation to paint.
